titleOfInvention Image fiber
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain an image fiber in which the propagation of light to a cut-off part is prevented by forming a cut-off part constituted of silica glass in which Ti and fluorine are doped and their reflactive indexes are countervailed on the boundary between pictures. n CONSTITUTION: In an image fiber in which a cut-off part is formed on the boundary between picture elements for transferring images, the above cut-off part is constituted of silica glass in which Ti and fluorine are doped and their reflactive indexed are countervailed. As for manufacturing the above image fiber, a plasma method and an exterior mounting method can be adopted. For example, in the plasma method, a core clad type-rod is prepd. and is rotated around its shaft; at the same time, a plasma flame is traversed along the shaft; and the inside of the above plasma flame is fed with prescribed amounts of SiCl 4 , TiCl 4 , fluorine-contg. gas and O 2 to form an SiO 2 glass layer in which Ti and fluorine are codoped in the state where their reflactive indexes are mutually countervailed. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1992,JPO&Japio
