titleOfInvention Method of regenerating phosphor
abstract PURPOSE: To regenerate a phosphor excellent in luminance, dispersibility and coating properties by providing a plurality of specific treating steps to the method of regenerating a phosphor from a recovered phosphor slurry containing carbon, a dichromate and PVA. n CONSTITUTION: A method of regenerating a phosphor from a recovered phosphor slurry containing carbon, a dichromate and PVA comprises a decomposition step wherein an alkali (e.g. NaOH) is added to the above slurry (after water is added thereto and the mixture is warmed) to prepare a warm phosphor suspension of an alkali concentration of 0.5N or below and one or more oxidizing agents selected from the group consisting of C 3 H 3 N 3 O 3 , C 3 Cl 2 NaN 3 O 3 , and C 3 Cl 3 N 3 O 3 are added to the suspension in an amount of 1.0-20.0wt.% for the dried solids in the suspension, a weak acid treating step wherein the phosphor is separated from the suspension, water is added to it to obtain a suspension, then a weak acid (e.g. acetic acid) is added to it to adjust the pH to 3.0-5.0, and a surface treating step wherein the surface of the phosphor separated from the suspension is treated. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1992,JPO&Japio
