titleOfInvention Manufacture of polyurethane-metal bonded composite body
abstract PURPOSE:To obtain a polyurethane-metal bonded composite body having excellent dynamic bonding strength and fatigue performance by treating a metal with urethane adhesives excessively containing isocyanate groups or hydroxyl groups and applying liquid polyurethane to said metal. CONSTITUTION:After removing fats from a metal, as a base body, with chlorine solvent, etc., adhesives are diluted to 5-40wt.% with solvent, which is applied to the metal using a proper means and heated and dried preferably at 50-15O deg.C for several to several tens of minutes. Thereafter, the metal is fixed to a mold and liquid polyurethane is filled into the mold. By curing said polyurethane, a polyurethane-metal bonded composite body is obtained. Adhesives comprising polyisocyanate compound, high molecular weight polyol and low molecular weight polyol are used, in which the number of hydroxyl groups of said high and low molecular weight polyol and the number of isocyanate groups in said polyisocyanate (CH/NCO mole ratio) are 6/1-1.05/1 and 1/1.05-1/6 respectively. As liquid polyurethane, a mixture of polyol, polyisocyanate and chain extension agent or a mixture of urethane prepolymer and chain extension agent is used.
