titleOfInvention Method and apparatus for treating exhaust gas
abstract PURPOSE: To enhance denitration efficiency by controlling the concn. of oxygen in exhaust gas to be treated to a specific value or less and subsequently denitrating and desulfurizing the exhaust gas by plasma treatment. n CONSTITUTION: The concn. of oxygen in the exhaust gas introduced into a plasma denitration and desulfurization apparatus 2, that is, the concn. of oxygen at the outlet of an oxygen removing apparatus 3 is detected by the oxygen densitometer 4 arranged on the upstream side of the plasma denitration and desulfurization apparatus 2 and controlled so as to always become about 5% or less. Thereafter, the exhaust gas is introduced into the plasma denitration and desulfurization apparatus 2 to decompose and remove NO x and N 2 O, SO x and subsequently discharged to the atmosphere. By this method, extremely high denitration efficiency (removal of NO x and N 2 O) can be secured and the consumption of the power required in the treatment of exhaust gas due to plasma can be reduced. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1992,JPO&Japio
