titleOfInvention Isoxazolone derivative-containing ameliorant for cerebral function
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain the subject ameliorant, containing an isoxazolone derivative as an active ingredient, capable of activating mammalian nerve cells, promoting hypermnesia with low toxicity and effective against dysmnesia due to cerebral apoplexy, Alzherimer's diseases, head injuries, etc. n CONSTITUTION: An ameliorant containing a compound expressed by formula I (R 1 is H or lower alkyl; R 2 is amino which may be protected; COR 3 is carboxyl which may be esterified; (n) is 0-3) as an active ingredient. In use, the aforementioned compound is mixed with a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier and used in a dosage form of tablet, pellet, injection, etc. Furthermore, the compound expressed by formula I which is the active ingredient is synthesized by reacting, e.g. a compound expressed by formula II (COOR 4 is esterified carboxyl group) with hydroxylamine and subjecting the resultant product to cyclizing reaction. The compound expressed by formula II is synthesized by using an ε-carboxyl-α-amino acid derivative and carbonyldiimidazole as starting raw materials. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1991,JPO&Japio
