titleOfInvention Freshness preserving agent for cut flower
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain a freshness preserving agent for cut flower suppressing biosynthesis of ethylene and suppressing microorganism propagating in the vicinity of scape containing a water-soluble oxygen scavenger such as ascorbic acid, gallic acid or pyrogallol and silver compound such as a diammine-silver complex salt. n CONSTITUTION: The aimed freshness preserving agent for cut flower contains a water-soluble oxygen scavenger and a silver compound (e.g. diammine-silver nitrate) in a molar ratio of 1:0.05-1. Said freshness preserving agent is able to be carried in a porous carrier and an organic foaming material (e.g. polyurethane, polyethylene or polyester elastomer) capable of setting cut flower and readily able to effectively bring freshness preserving component into contact with scape part of cut flower is preferable as said porous carrier. In preparation, for instance, ascorbic acid and diammine-silver nitrate are added to foaming agent such as polyol, polyisocyanate or trichloromonofluoromethane and reacted. Using amount of the freshness preserving agent is 0.5-10g to 1l water. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1991,JPO&Japio
