titleOfInvention | Pulse modulation scanning type optical microscope |
abstract | PURPOSE: To obtain an image wherein the resolution that an optical system has originally is displayed sufficiently by imposing pulse modulation upon light source light so that light is made incident on a photodetecting element array only nearby a sampling point on the surface of a sample. n CONSTITUTION: A pulse modulating means is provided in an optical path or to a light source or a driving means for the light source and the pulse modulation is imposed upon the light source light so that the light is made incident on the photodetecting element array only nearby the sampling point on the sample surface. For example, a semiconductor laser 2 requires a collimator lens 21 which collimates projection light and also requires a beam shaping prism according to required specifications. When a gas laser of helium, neon, argon, etc., which can not modulate the light source light directly is used, an acoustooptic modulator (AOM), an electrooptic modulator (EOM), etc., can be arranged at optical positions. Consequently, the image wherein the original resolution of the optical system is displayed sufficiently is obtained. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1991,JPO&Japio |
