titleOfInvention Production of solubilized silk fibroin
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain the subject new water-soluble substance without denaturation by heat, an acid, alkali, etc., by sulfating hydroxyl groups of tyrosine in silk fibroin with an arylsulfotransferase. n CONSTITUTION: Silk fibroin is reacted with an arylsulfotransferase (e.g. an enzyme produced by a bacterium Eubacterium rectale) in a medium containing a solution (e.g. p-nitropyenylsulfuric acid) capable of donating sulfuric acid groups to convert hydroxyl groups in tyrosine in the silk fibroin structure into a sulfuric acid ester and afford the objective substance. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1991,JPO&Japio
