abstract PURPOSE: To provide a molding material having excellent heat resistance and moldability and used for optical applications by compounding a polycarbonate resin having a specific range of viscosity-average mol.wt. with a pentaerythritol mono-tetrathiopropionate. n CONSTITUTION: (A) 100 pts.wt. of a polycarbonate resin having a viscosity average mol.wt. of 12000-30000 is compounded with (B) 0.001-0.3 of a pentaerythritol mono-tetrathiopropionate such as pentaerythritol tetrakis(β-lauryl- thiopropionate), if necessary, phosphorous acid, an organic phosphite, a mold release agent (preferably the simultaneous use of stearyl monoglyceride and butyl stearate), etc., to provide a molding material reduced in the generation of gelled products, etc., in molding processes and used for optical applications. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1991,JPO&Japio
