abstract | PURPOSE: To increase the strengths of catalyst particles by bringing a solid component mainly comprising a metal oxide, Mg, Ti, a halogen, and an electron- donating compd. into contact with an olefin in the presence of a trialkylaluminum and a specific dimethoxysilane compd. n CONSTITUTION: An oxide of a metal of the group II-IV of the periodic table, an Mg compd. (e.g. MgCl 2 ), a di- to tetravalent Ti compd. (e.g. TiCl 4 ), and an electron-donating compd. (e.g. acetyl chloride) are brought into contact with each other to give a solid component mainly comprising a metal oxide, Mg, Ti, a halogen, and an electron-donating compd., which is then brought into contact with an olefin at 100°C or lower in the presence of a trialkylaluminum (e.g. trimethylalminum) and a dimethoxysilane compd. of the formula (wherein R 1 and R 2 are each a 1-10C aliph. hydrocarbon group) having a quantum- chemically calculated volume of 170-500Å 3 and an electron density of an oxygen atom in the methoxy group of 0.690-0.800A.U. or having the volume of 200-500Å 3 and the electron density of 0.685-0.800A.U. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1991,JPO&Japio |
