titleOfInvention Hollow yarn type bioreactor
abstract PURPOSE: To prevent cells from sticking and enhance separation effects on metabolites by forming cation exchanging group-containing cellulosic films on the surfaces of ceramic hollow yarns. n CONSTITUTION: Ceramic hollow yarns having 5-25μm pore diameter are dipped in a solvent containing 0.05-10wt.% cellulosic derivative containing carboxyl, phosphoric acid, sulfone groups, etc., as cation exchanging groups and then dried to provide ceramic hollow yarns 1, 1', 1"... coated with the cation exchanging group-containing cellulosic films. The resultant hollow yarns 1, 1', 1"... are subsequently housed parallel to a reaction tube having closed both ends both ends therein by opening both ends of the yarns to the ends of the reaction tube and the openings are led to gathering pipes at the inlet and outlet. A feed port 6 for an intermediate liquid between the hollow yarns and a discharge port 8 therefor are simultaneously provided on the sidewall of the reaction tube. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1991,JPO&Japio
