titleOfInvention Article comprising water-curable resin coated knitted fabric
abstract PURPOSE: To reduce the curing time of a shaping casting substance by constituting a knitted fabric or the water-curable resin applied to the knitted fabric of a stable dispersion of hydrophobia polymer particles. n CONSTITUTION: An article contains a knitted fabric scrim (e.g.; knitted glass fibers) coated with a water-curable resin (like an isocyanate functional group- containing polyurethane prepolymer) containing a stable dispersion of hydrophobic polymer particles. The polymer particles reduces the foaming of the resin during curing and, when an article is composed of a casting substance, improved lamination not markedly improved at the terminal of a substance, a relatively strong and durable cast article, improved handling characteristics and improved voids can be obtained. Polymer particles reduce the hardening time of the article and are fixed within a relatively short time according to the matter to which the article is adapted and increase the wet strength of the article after curing. The polymer particles have an average diameter of below about 20 μm and, by this particle dimension, reduced foaming, a reduced curing time and relatively good wet strength are generally obtained. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1991,JPO
