titleOfInvention Iron component-enriched soft drink
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain the title soft drink with both the high absorption rate and speed for the iron component contained, free from bitter taste, offensive odor and metallic odor by incorporating an iron compound-contg. iron component- enriched soft drink with (ethyl)maltitol. n CONSTITUTION: The objective soft drink can be obtained by incorporating (A) a iron component-enriched soft drink containing an iron (pref. trivalent) compound with (B) maltitol and/or ethylmaltitol. It is preferable that the molar ratio of the iron component to the (ethyl)maltitol is 1:3 and the pH of the final soft drink 4.5-8.5. Said iron compound is pref. such as to be liable to dissociate into ions (e.g. ferric chloride, iron sesquioxide). n COPYRIGHT: (C)1991,JPO&Japio
