abstract |
PURPOSE: To obtain a coating composition having steeply improved flowing characteristics by adding and mixing specific fine particles of a gelled polymer into a solution containing coated film-forming binder resin and a volatile organic liquid diluent dissolving said resin. n CONSTITUTION: (A) A coated film-forming binder resin such as an acrylic resin or an alkyd resin is dissolved in (B) a solution containing volatile organic liquid diluent such as toluene or ethylene glycol diacetate dissolving the component A. Then, (C) fine particles of a gelled polymer obtained by emulsion polymerization of (i) a polymerizable monomer such as ethylene glycol diacrylate containing at least two radically polymerizable unsaturated groups in a molecule and (ii) a radically polymerizable unsaturated monomer other than the component (i) in the presence of a reactive emulsifier containing an allyl group in a molecule are added and mixed in the above-mentioned solution, then the component C is stably dispersed in the solution without dissolving to afford the aimed composition. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1991,JPO&Japio |
