titleOfInvention Neurite growth promoter
abstract PURPOSE: To provide the subject substance produced by a brain-derived astroglia, containing α 2 -macroglobulin as the main component, useful as a medicine for reproduction of denaturated nerve tissue, prevention of scnescence, etc., and capable of promotion of neurite growth. n CONSTITUTION: The cerebral hemisphere of an SD rat is taken out and treated with trypsin and the resultant free cells are filtered and flask cultured. Cells except astroglia are removed by the shaking method and secondary culture is carried out. The obtained astroglia is washed and then further cultured and the culture solution is recovered, thus preparing an astroglia culture supernatant. To the resultant supernatant ammonium sulfate is added and the generated precipitate is collected. The collected precipitate is dialyzed using a phosphate buffered saline, washed and then eluted to pool an active fraction and concentration thereof is carried out. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1991,JPO&Japio
