abstract | PURPOSE: To obtain a high sensitivity and to improve the stability to repetitive use by incorporating titanyl phthalocyanine as a charge generating material into a photosensitive layer and incorporating specific compds. as a charge transfer material therein. n CONSTITUTION: The titanyl phthalocyanine which exhibits strong diffraction peaks at Bragg angles (2θ±0.2°) 9.7°, 15.0°, 24.2°, and 27.3° in powder X-ray diffraction spectral using CuKα rays is incorporated as the charge generating material into the photosensitive layer and at least one kind of the compds. expressed by formula I are incorporated as the charge transfer material into the photosensitive layer. In the formula I, R 1 denotes an alkyl group, aralkyl group, aryl group, etc.; R 2 denotes a group selected from a hydrogen atom, alkyl group and aralkyl group; R 3 denotes an aryl group which may have a substituent.
