titleOfInvention | Synthetic leather and its production |
abstract | PURPOSE: To produce a synthetic leather similar to natural leather by laminating a polyurethane resin layer containing a water-soluble natural polymer on a fine porous layer of a substrate having a porous layer formed by wet-process and removing the natural polymer from the resin layer while rotating the laminate in water, thereby forming a porous skin layer. n CONSTITUTION: A fine porous polyurethane layer 3 produced by wet-process is formed on and integrated to at least one surface of a substrate 2 made of nylon, polyester, etc. A polyurethane resin containing fine powder 10 of a water- soluble natural polymer (e.g. starch) ia laminated on the surface of the porous layer and the natural polymer is removed while rotating the laminate in water to form a porous surface layer 14. Since the polymer is removed under rotation, the substrate is subjected also to crumpling action to attain a soft feeling and form a crimped pattern and concave wrinkles b having fine crimped pattern near the concave wrinkles. Accordingly, a synthetic leather having excellent moisture permeability and air permeability and similar to natural leather can be produced by this process. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1991,JPO&Japio |
