abstract | PURPOSE: To prepare the subject polymer having a good particle shape and a controlled mol. wt. by employing a catalyst comprising a component prepared by carrying a cyclopentadienyl group-containing transition metal compound and an organic Al compound on a specific solid complex, a specified organic metal component and an electron donor. n CONSTITUTION: An olefin is polymerized in the presence of a catalyst to provide the objective polymer, the catalyst comprising (A) a catalyst component prepared by bringing a solid complex containing magnesium, titanium, halogen and an electron donor compound (e.g. isobutyl phthalate) into contact with the reaction product between an organic transition metal compound having a (substituted) cyclopentadienyl group [e.g. bid(cyclopentadienyl)dimethyl titanium ] and an alkyl aluminum compound (e.g. trimethyl aluminum) and/or a mixture thereof, (B) the organic compound of the group IA, IIA, IIB, IIIB or IVB metal (e.g. triethyl aluminum) and (C) an electron donor compound (e.g. diphenyldimethoxy silane). n COPYRIGHT: (C)1991,JPO&Japio |
