titleOfInvention | Treatment of waste water containing metal |
abstract | PURPOSE: To treat waste water contg. metals at a low cost by adding a calcium salt and sulfite to the waste water, depositing calcium sulfite, coprecipitating and removing the metals in the waste water. n CONSTITUTION: Waste water contg. metals is poured into a water receiving pit 1, calcium hydroxide and sodium hydrogensulfite are added and dissolved in the waste water and this water is adjusted to pH7 with sulfuric acid and allowed to stand at about ≥20°C to deposit filiform calcium sulfite hydrate on the inner wall of the pit 1 and concrete boards 2. Since the waste water contg. metals can be treated with the low-cost calcium salt and sulfite, the cost of treatment can be reduced. Since the filiform deposit is formed on the inner wall of the pit, etc., equipment such as a clarifier is not required. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1991,JPO&Japio |
