abstract PURPOSE: To obtain a vulcanizable chloroprene rubber composition decreased in odor and improved in the rate of vulcanization and the physical properties, thermal aging resistance, compression set, etc., of a vulcanized rubber by mixing chloroprene rubber with a specified thiadiazine compound and a bismaleimide compound. n CONSTITUTION: 100 pts.wt. chioroprene rubber is mixed with 0.1-10 pts.wt. at least one thiadiazine compound of formula I or II (wherein R 1-2 are each a lower alkyl, a lower alkenyl or a cyclohexyl; R 3 is H or a lower alkyl; and R 4 is an alkylene), e.g. 3,5-dimethyl-2H-tetrahydro-1,3,5-thiadiazine-2-thione, 0.1-10 pts.wt. bismaleimide compound of formula III [wherein X is (CH 2 ) n or a group of any one of formulas IV-VI; R is H, Cl or an alkyl; Y is O, CH 2 , S or SO 2 ; and (n) is 2-12], e.g. N,N'-m-phenylene-bismaleimide, and optionally a filler, a reinforcement, a softener, a higher fatty acid, a colorant, etc. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1991,JPO&Japio
