abstract | PURPOSE: To improve the heat resistance, impact strength, and moldability by compounding a polyphenylene sulfide resin, nylon 66, and an epoxidized olefin copolymer in a specified ratio. n CONSTITUTION: A glycidyl ester of an α,β-unsatd. carboxylic acid (e.g. glycidyl acrylate) is copolymerized with an olefin to give an epoxidized olefin copolymer. Then 100 pts.wt. the sum of 30-90wt.% polyphenylene sulfide resin and 70-10wt.% nylon 66 with a relative viscosity (in 96% sulfuric acid, at 25°C, in 1g/dl concn.) of 2.0-6.0 is compounded with 2-50 pts.wt. the epoxidized olefin copolymer to give a resin compsn. 80-60 pts.wt. the resin compsn. is mixed with 20-40 pts.wt. glass fiber, or 50-30 pts.wt. the resin compsn. is mixed with 50-70 pts.wt. (1:3)-(3:1) mixture of glass fiber with CaCO 3 . n COPYRIGHT: (C)1991,JPO&Japio |
