titleOfInvention Production of optically active 1,3-butane diol
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain the title diol capable of carrying out high-concentration charge of substrate and having high productivity in the production on an industrial scale by treating an enanthiomer mixture of 1,3-butane diol with a microorganism while controlling concentration of a treating liquid of enanthiomer reverse to the aimed enanthiomer. n CONSTITUTION: When an enanthiomer mixture of 1,3-butane diol is treated with a microorganism to collect residual diol, an enanthiomer mixture of 1,3- butanediol is added to the treating system and treated with a microorganism while controlling concentration in treating liquid of an enanthiomer reverse to an enanthiomer to be produced to provide the aimed diol. Furthermore, concentration in the treating liquid of the enanthiomer reverse to the enanthiomer to be produced is preferably controlled to the range of 0.5 to 1.5wt.%. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1991,JPO&Japio
