abstract PURPOSE: To improve light-shielding property and durability by providing a magnetic layer on one side of a nonmagnetic supporting body and using such a supporting body which consists of a metal-contg. layer and resin layers provided on both sides or one side of the metal-contg. layer. n CONSTITUTION: The supporting body 1 is obtained by forming resin layers 3 on both sides or one side of a metal-contg. layer 2, and a magnetic layer is provided on one side of this nonmagnetic supporting body. The metal to be used is, for example, Al, Ti, V, Cr, Mn, Fe, etc., and the resin is, preferably for example, polyesters such as polyethylene terephthalate, polyethylene-2-,6- naphthalate, etc., polyolefins such as polypropylene, etc., and cellulose acetate, etc. Thereby, enough strength is obtained even when the medium is made thin, and the obtd. medium has improved durability, good electromagnetic conversion characteristics, and enough light shielding property even without a light shielding layer such as a back coating layer. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1991,JPO&Japio
