abstract PURPOSE: To shorten the time required in a test by connecting a reduced pres sure tank to testing tank and holding each of the internal pressures of the testing tank and a humidifying tank to 1 atm. or less. n CONSTITUTION: Steam is supplied to a testing tank 5 having a material 13 to be tested received therein under predetermined pressure from the humidifying tank 4 connected to the testing tank 5 and heated to predetermined temp. by a heater 14. At this time, a reduced vacuum tank 15 is provided to the outside of the main body 2 of the environment testing apparatus 1 forming the testing tank 5 and the humidifying tank 4 and set to a desired degree by a vacuum pump 17 and connected to the testing tank 5 by an exhaust pipe 18. A pressure sensor 19 and exhaust valve 20 connected to a valve opening and closing control part 21 are provided to the exhaust pipe 18. The valve 20 is opened correspond ing to the pressure in the testing tank 5 to hold the pressure in the testing tank 5 to a desired value of 1 atom or less and the water in the humidifying tank 4 is boiled at desired temp. and the relative humidity of the testing tank 5 is set to a desired value to realize high temp. and low humidity environment and an evaluation time can be shortened. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1991,JPO&Japio
