PURPOSE: To prepare a preparation for external application having enhanced penetrating rate through the skin by including a nonsteroidal antiinflammatory compound and a specific fatty acid (ester). CONSTITUTION: This preparation for external application used as a cream, a plaster, an ointment or a gel includes (A) an active ingredient selected from 4-hydroxy-2-methyl-N-2-pyridinyl-2H-1,2-benzothiazine-3-carboxamide-1, 1-dioxide (pyroxyam) of formula I, α-(6-methoxy)naphthyl-propionic acid (naproxen) of formula II and α-(4-isobutyl)phenyl-propionic acid (ibprofen) of formula III, a salt of these three compounds, and diethylammonium salt of 2-[(2,6- dichloroanilino)phenyl]acetic acid (dichlorofenac) of formula IV, and (B) a 4-30C fatty acid, or an alkyl and an alkenyl ester thereof as a transdarmal penetration enhancer. |
