titleOfInvention | Surfactant for emulsion polymerization |
abstract | PURPOSE: To obtain the title surfactant providing an emulsion having excellent water resistance and adhesivity of coating film by copolymerizing an unsaturated monomer containing carboxyl group, sulfonic group or polyalkylene oxide group with a comonomer having a specific glass transition temperature. n CONSTITUTION: (A) 7-35 pts.wt. unsaturated monomer (e.g. 2-acrylamido-2 methylpropanesulfonic acid) containing carboxyl group, sulfonic group, a polyalkylene oxide group, etc., is copolymerized with (B) 93-65 pts.wt. one or more unsaturated monomers (e.g. ethyl acrylate) which are copolymerizable with the component A and comprise ≥70wt.% monomers having ≤0°C glass transition temperature (Tg) and neutralized with triethylamine, etc., to give the objective surfactant for emulsion polymerization comprising a salt of a copolymer having 700-10,000 numberaverage molecular weight. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1991,JPO&Japio |
