abstract | PURPOSE: To obtain a transparent copolymer excellent in both the chemical resistance and adhesiveness of the coating film prepared therefrom by adding an organosilane compound as a comonomer to an acrylonitrile/styrene copolymer of a specified acrylonitrile content. n CONSTITUTION: A random terpolymer comprising acrylonitrile, styrene and an organosilane compound (e.g. γ-methacryloxy-propyltrimethoxysilane), wherein the content of the acrylonitrile units in the copolymer is 36-50wt.%, that of the organosilane compound units in the copolymer is 0.01-1.0wt.% and the η sp /C (as measured in a methyl ethyl ketone solvent in a concentration of 0.5% at 30°C) is 0.33-1.0.
