PURPOSE: To obtain in good efficiency an ethylenic copolymer useful for modifying another thermoplastic resin by copolymerizing ethylene with an unsaturated carboxylic acid ester in the presence of a catalyst comprising a trivalent organolanthanide compound or a compound obtained from both the organolanthanide compound and an organoaluminum compound. n CONSTITUTION: Ethylene is copolymerized with an unsaturated carboxylic acid ester in the presence of an initiator comprising at least one organometallic compound selected from the group consisting of a trivalent organoscandium compound, a trivalent organoyttrium compound and a trivalent organolanthanide (La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Pm, Sm, Eu, Ga, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm, Yb or Lu) compound or a compound obtained from both this compound and an organoaluminum compound. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1991,JPO&Japio |
