titleOfInvention Adsorbent for removing bio-macromolecule such as led and endotoxin from external circulation whole blood
abstract PURPOSE: To remove bio-macromolecule from the whole blood with high selectivity by adjusting porous carrier material of homo-, co- or terpolymerizate of acrylic acid and/or methacrylic acid having a particle size range of a specified value and a removal limit. n CONSTITUTION: As a carrier material, 'Toyopearl' (R) is used. The material is spherical and has a particle diameter of 70-150μm. 40g carrier material is dissolved together with 8.25ml of epichlorohydrin or butanediglycydoxy ether in 125ml of 1mol sodium hydroxide solution, and subsequently 47ml ethylenediamine is added. In order to introduce polyacrylic acid as a ligand, 200mg polyacrylic acid is dissolved in 12ml of sodium chloride solution of 0.15M and N-ethoxycarbonyl-2-ethoxy-1.2-dihydroxyquinoline is added as an activator. After 30 minutes, an amino-derivative carrier material is added to a polyacrylic acid solution, a mixture is reacted for 12 hours at a room temperature to obtain a composite adsorbent having particle size range of 50-250μm on the spherical carrier material and the removal limit is at least 5×10 6 dalton. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1991,JPO
