titleOfInvention Production of fluoran compound
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain the subject compound having extremely faint color without using filtration process by condensing a specific benzoic acid compound with a diphenylamine compound, dispersing the condensation reaction liquid in an alkaline aqueous solution and carrying out cyclizing reaction. n CONSTITUTION: The objective compound of formula III can be produced by condensing (A) a compound of formula I (R 1 and R 2 are lower alkyl) with (B) a compound of formula II in concentrated sulfuric acid, neutralizing the obtained condensation reaction liquid by dispersing in an alkaline aqueous solution containing sodium carbonate and finally cyclizing the condensation product. Preferably, the component A is 2-(4-dibutylamino-2-hydroxybenzoyl)benzoic acid, etc., and the component B is 4-methoxy-2-methyldiphenylamine, etc. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1991,JPO&Japio
