abstract PURPOSE: To improve the adhesion, corrosion resistance, and water resistance by using, as the main component, a copolymer obtd. from vinylidene chloride, a radical-polymerizable silane monomer, and an ethylenically unsatd. monomer. n CONSTITUTION: 55-95wt.% vinylidene chloride, 0.1-20wt.% radical-polymerizable silane monomer (e.g. γ-methacryloxypropyltrimethoxysilane), and 2-44wt.% ethylenically unsatd. monomer copolymerizable with them (e.g. methyl acrylate) are copolymerized in the presence of a chain transfer agent in an amt. of 5wt.% or lower of the sum of the above three monomers, giving a copolymer.
