titleOfInvention Rust preventing treatment for sliding member
abstract PURPOSE: To produce a sliding member having rust preventing property and sliding characteristics and improved in durability by forming a rust preventive film of zinc material on the surface of a base material by means of mechanical plating treatment and impregnating this rust preventive film with solid lubricant. n CONSTITUTION: After alkaline degreasing treatment is applied to the surface of a base material (Fe) 6, a zinc or zinc-iron alloy powder of about 0.2-0.7mm grain size is projected onto the surface of the base material, by which a porous rust preventive film 7 is formed on the base material surface. Subsequently, the base material 6 is immersed into a coating bath in which PTFE grains 8 are dispersed, by which the PTFE grains 8 are impregnated into the voids among mutual alloy grains 9 forming the rust preventive film 7. This base material 6 is subjected to evacuation treatment and sintering treatment so as to be formed into a product. By this method, the sliding member capable of maintaining the effect of the solid lubricant over a long period can be obtained. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1991,JPO&Japio
