abstract PURPOSE: To provide a vasodilator not causing an adverse action such as an excessive vasodepressive action, etc., and readily employed, by compounding a specific tetrapeptide or a salt thereof as an active ingredient. n CONSTITUTION: The objective vasodilator contains a tetrapeptide of the formula or a phamacologically acceptable salt thereof as an active ingredient. The compound exhibits a vasodilating activity similar to that of nitro prusside, does not have defects of the nitro prusside (e.g. excessive vasodepressive activity or careful drip administration using a constant volume infusion device), is administered in a dose of 0.01-10 mg/kg/day on oral administration and in a dose of 10-1000μg/kg/day on parenteral administration, and is useful for treating circular diseases such as cardiac failures, acute cardiac infarction and hypertension. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1991,JPO&Japio
