abstract PURPOSE: To obtain the subject high protein powder containing a high content of methionine in the protein, having a high pepsin digestion ratio and remarkably useful as a feed and a food material by pulverizing the grain skin part of beer cake. n CONSTITUTION: Wet-state beer cake is subjected to flaking treatment, sieved in the presence of water and dried to obtain the objective high-protein powder containing 40-60 wt.% protein, 12-18 wt.% lipid, 2-6 wt.% fiber and 1-4 wt.% ash on dry substance base. The resultant powder is degreased, as necessary, to obtain a degreased high-protein powder containing 45-70 wt.% protein, 1-3 wt.% lipid, 3-6 wt.% fiber and 1-4 wt.% ash on dry substance base. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1991,JPO&Japio
