titleOfInvention Production of alpha,beta-unsaturated carbonyl compound
abstract PURPOSE: To produce the subject compound which is an intermediate for perfumes, medicines, etc., in high purity and good yield by using only a platinum group metal compound as a catalyst and bringing an alkenyl ester into contact with an allyl type carbonic acid ester. n CONSTITUTION: An alkenyl ester (e.g. 1-cyclopentenyl acetate) expressed by formula I (R 1 to R 4 are H or hydrocarbon residue; X is acryl) is brought into contact with an allyl type carbonic acid ester (e.g. allyl methyl carbonate) in the presence of a platinum group metal compound catalyst (e.g. palladium acetate) to afford an α,β-unsaturated carbonyl compound (e.g. 2-cyclopenten-1- one) expressed by formula II. The above-mentioned method is excellent in operating efficiency and safety. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1991,JPO&Japio
