titleOfInvention | Production of olefin polymer |
abstract | PURPOSE: To obtain an olefin polymer excellent in transparency and stereoregularity in high polymerization activity by using a specified titanium trichloride composition in the production of the polymer by polymerizing an olefin in the presence of a catalyst comprising a titanium trichloride composition and an organoaluminum compound. n CONSTITUTION: A process for producing an olefin polymer by polymerizing an olefin in the presence of a catalyst comprising a titanium trichloride composition, an organo-aluminum compound and optionally an electron donor, wherein the titanium trichloride composition is one prepared by reacting a polycarboxylic ester (e.g. isobutyl phthalate) at least once in an arbitrary step in a process for obtaining a titanium trichloride composition by pretreating a solid product obtained by reacting an organoaluminum compound (e.g. diethylaluminum monochloride) or a reaction product thereof with an ether (e.g. diisoamyl ether) with TiCl 4 by the polymerization of a nonlinear olefin (e.g. vinylcyclohexane) or a mixture thereof with a linear olefin (e.g. propylene) and further reacting the resulting product with an ether and an electron acceptor (e.g. TiCl 4 ). n COPYRIGHT: (C)1991,JPO&Japio |
