titleOfInvention Production of aluminum memory disk by smooth metal finishing
abstract PURPOSE: To provide an Al memory disk having excellent smoothness and adhesion property by subjecting an Al substrate to a double zincate treatment by using a nitric acid bath contg. group VIII metal ions, then treating this substrate with an electroless metal plating bath contg. Cd ions. n CONSTITUTION: A zincate film is applied on Al by using a double zincation method. This zincate zincation method is executed by zincating the Al after the treatment described above in a zincating bath, treating the Al in the nitric acid bath and once removing the zincate film, then further immersing the Al into the zincating bath. At this time, the group VIII metal ions of periodic table are incorporated into the nitric acid bath for the treatment described above. Ferric ions are preferably used at a concn. of 0.1 to 2g/L as the metal ions. The zincated Al substrate obtd. in such a manner is plated with metals, such as Ni, by the electroless metal plating method. At this time, an effective ratio of the Cd ions is incorporated preferably at a concn. of 0.1 to 1mg/L into the electroless metal plating bath. As a result, the Al memory disk having the plating film having the excellent adhesiveness and smoothness is obtd. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1991,JPO
