titleOfInvention | Pyrido(4,3-g)quinoline and organic photochromic compound |
abstract | NEW MATERIAL:A compound shown by formula I. n USE: Showing photochromism, useful as an organic photochromic compound to be used as various recording, memory materials and photosensitizers. n PREPARATION: 2-Bromo-3-methylpyridine shown by formula II is treated with lithium to form 3-methyl-2-lithiopyridine, which is reacted with pyridine-3- aldehyde to give-3-pyridyl-2-(3-methylpyridyl)methanol shown by formula III. Then this compound is reacted with thionyl chloride, further made into 3- pyridyl-2-(3-methylpyridyl)methane shown by formula IV to give 3-pyridyl-2-(3- methylpyridyl)methane oxide shown by formula V, which is subjected to vacuum flash decomposition method. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1991,JPO&Japio |
