NEW MATERIAL:A compound shown by formula I(R 1 and R 2 are OH--protecting group; R 3 is amino-protecting group). n EXAMPLE: (3S,4S)-1-Di-p-anisylmethyl-3-benzyloxy 4-[(S)-(1-tbutyldimethylsilyloxy-1- phenyl)methyl]-2-azetidinone. n USE: A raw material for bestatin useful as a carcinostatic agent having immunoactivating action. n PREPARATION: An imine derivative shown by formula II is reacted with a glycolic acid shown by the formula R 1 COH 2 COX (X is Cl, Br or I) in the presence of a base (e.g. triethylamine) in a solvent such as toluene at -30 to 100°C to give a compound shown by formula I. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1991,JPO&Japio |
