titleOfInvention Melt spinning of polyester fiber
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain the subject fiber having low birefringence and small denier unevenness by subjecting polyester containing ethylene terephthalate as a principal component to melt spinning and cooling spun yarn with cooling wind from transverse direction in the first cooling zone and from the both directions in the second cooling zone, respectively. n CONSTITUTION: Polyester containing ethylene terephthalate as a principal repeating unit is melted and extruded through a spinneret 2 in a spinning pack 1 to form yarn (y), then the yarn (y) is flowed down through a heating cylinder 3 below the spinneret 2, thus fed into a cooling part 5 composed of a first cooling zone 4 and a second cooling zone 6 along running direction of the yarn (y). Cooling wind is blown from an approximately transverse direction (a) to the running direction of the yarn S in the first cooling zone 4 at a speed of 0.3-0.6m/sec and cooling wind is blown from both directions of (a) and (b) in the second cooling zone at a speed of 0.2-0.6m/sec, then the yarn is cooled to afford the objective fiber. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1991,JPO&Japio
