titleOfInvention Production of l-glutamine by fermentation
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain L-glutamine useful for medical drug, etc., in a high yield by culturing a stock belonging to genus Corynebacterium, having resistance to 6-diazo-5-oxo-norleucine and having L-glutamic acid producibility. n CONSTITUTION: At first, for instance, L-glutamine or L-glutamic acid-producing stock is subjected to mutagenesis treatment (ultraviolet ray irradiation treatment or mutagen treatment, etc.) as a parent stock to obtain mutants. Next, a stock resistant to 6-diazo-5-oxo-norleucine [e.g. Corynebacterium melasecola DH344 (FERM P11117)] belonging to genus Corynebacterium or genus Brevibacterium is subjected to shaking cultivation in a seed-culturing medium and subjected to shaking cultivation in a main medium, then the aimed L-glutamine is collected from resultant cultured solution after finish of fermentation. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1991,JPO&Japio
