titleOfInvention | Production of ion oxide yellow pigment |
abstract | PURPOSE: To safely obtain the pigments without heat loss by executing gas treatment with an oxygen-contg. gas and melting of meal in separate vessels at the time of producing the iron oxide yellow pigment by a Penniman-Zoph process. n CONSTITUTION: At the time of producing the iron oxide yellow pigment by the Penniman-Zoph process from FeSO 4 , NaOH and metal iron which are starting raw materials, iron scrap 9 is melted while hydrogen 12 is released by an acidic suspension 10 and the hydrogen is taken out together with natural gas in the form of a nonexplosive mixture in a metal melting vessel 1. This hydrogen is usable in a driving power department. The no-metal contg. suspension 10 is thereafter transported by a pump 4 to a gas treating vessel 6 from the metal melting vessel 1. This suspension is enriched with iron [II] with respect to a reduced proton content. In this adequate embodiment, the suspension is returned to the metal melting vessel 1 after the oxidation is completed and the hydrolysis is finished by the gas treatment with the air from the two- component nozzle 5 in the bottom. The gas spaces of both vessels are assumed to be separated by, for example, siphon 7. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1991,JPO |
