abstract PURPOSE: To obtain a recording fluid free from discoloration and fading even when in a room or near a copying machine and improved in long-term shelf stability by using a recording agent comprising a specified compound, water, and a water-soluble organic solvent as the constituents. n CONSTITUTION: 0.5-20wt.% recording agent comprising a compound of formula I [wherein M is a divalent metal; S is a sulfo group, or an alkali metal salt or ammonium salt thereof; l is 1 to 2; R 1 is H, alkyl(amido) or sulfo; R 2 is (optionally sulfo- or alkoxy-substituted) phenoxy, anilino or group of formula III; m is 2 to 6; R 3 is -OH, -NR 4 R 5 or alkoxy; R 4 and R 5 are each a group of formula IV or V; n is 0 to 4; R 6 is H, methyl of methylol; R 7 is (optionally sulfo- or alkoxy-substituted)phenylsulfonyl or phenylacetyl; Q is a group of formula VI or VII; R 8 to R 14 are each R 1 ] is mixed with 10-90wt.% water, 5-95wt.% water-soluble organic solvent, and if necessary, a viscosity modifier, a surface active agent, a surface tension modifier, a pH adjustor, a mildewproofing agent, etc. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1991,JPO&Japio
