titleOfInvention Photographic material containing infrared absorbing dye and having superior aging stability
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain a photographic material having high detectability with an IR sensor and satisfactory aging stability by holding an IR absorbing dye and a water soluble polymer having specified repeating units on a substrate. n CONSTITUTION: An IR absorbing dye and a water soluble polymer represented by general formula IA are held on at least one side of a substrate. The water soluble polymer may be any of natural and synthetic polymers but preferably contains 10-100 mol% repeating units represented by the formula IA in one molecule. A dye absorbing light within the wavelength range of 700-1,200 nm is used as the IR absorbing dye and a water soluble dye such as tricarbocyanine or iodoaniline having a hydrophilic group is preferably used. A photographic material using the resulting substrate has high detectability with an IR sensor even when the amt. of silver is small or fine silver halide particles or thin flat platy silver halide particles are used. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1991,JPO&Japio
