titleOfInvention Esterification product and cosmetic containing the same
abstract NEW MATERIAL:An esterification product of an alcohol-modified silicone with a fatty acid expressed by formula I or II (R 1 , R 2 and R 3 are residue of fatty acid; n>0). n EXAMPLE: A compound expressed by formula III. n USE: An light-colored and odorless oiling agent, blended in cosmetics and capable of freely changing various physical properties by changing the kind of raw materials and keeping lubricity, water repellence, luster, etc., unique to silicone oils without stickiness even by increasing the viscosity with humectant properties, high stability, etc., without imparting irritation to the skin. n PREPARATION: A fatty acid (preferably a 2-22C fatty acid such as caprylic acid) and an alcohol-modified silicone (preferably having 300-6000 molecular weight) are subjected to esterification reaction until the lowering of acid value hardly occurs and the resultant product is then subjected to decoloring with a decoloring agent and deodorizing purification with steam. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1991,JPO&Japio
