abstract | PURPOSE: To prepare the subject siloxane reduced in the amounts of the remaining catalyst and silanol groups and not causing the problems such as corrosion by releasing the bonded catalyst with water or steam and washing out the remaining catalyst with water. n CONSTITUTION: When an organopolysiloxane is prepared by a polymerization reaction or equilibration reaction in the presence of sulfuric acid and/or bumming sulfuric acid, as a catalyst, water and/or steam are added to the organopolysiloxane in all amounts of 0.01-50 pts.wt. per pt.wt. of the catalyst after the finish of the reaction to hydrolyze and remove the catalyst bonded to the organopolysiloxane.
