titleOfInvention Pantothenic acid derivative
abstract NEW MATERIAL:A compound of formula I {R 1 and R 2 are each H or protective group for OH; R 3 is (aromatic group-substituted)5-25C monovalent aliphatic hydrocarbon group or NH-R 4 [R 4 is (aromatic group-substituted)5-25C monovalent aliphatic hydrocarbon group); (m) is 2 or 3; (n) is 1-4}. n EXAMPLE: 1-Hexanoyl-4-{1-oxo-3-[N-(1-oxo-2,4-diacetoxy-3,3-dimethylbutyl) amino]propyl}piperazine. n USE: Having inhibitory activity for acyl CoA-cholesterol-acyl transferase, thus useful for the therapies for hyperlipemia, arteriosclerosis, etc. n PREPARATION: The objective compound of the formula I can be obtained by reaction between (A) a compound of formula II (R 11 and R 12 are each protected OH) and (B) a compound of formula R 3 -COZ 1 (Z 1 is H, halogen, alkoxy, etc.) or formula R 4 -NCO using, as necessary, a catalyst or reaction promoter in a solvent such as methylene chloride at temperatures ranging from -78°C to the boiling point of the solvent. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1991,JPO&Japio
