PURPOSE: To obtain the subject polymer having various mol.wt. ranges, bulk densities and particle shapes by polymerizing ethylene or ethylene and 1-olefin under a specific condition in the presence of a catalyst comprising a transition metal component of specific metallocene and aluminoxane. n CONSTITUTION: Ethylene or a mixture of ethylene and 3-20 C 1-olefin is polymerized in a molten contact state, a suspension state or a gaseous phase state at -60-+200°C under pressure of 0.5-200 bar in the presence of a catalyst comprising a transition metal component of metallocene represented by formula I [M 1 is Ti, Zr or Hf, R 1 and R 2 are H, halogen, 1-10 C alkyl or 6-10 C aryl, R 3 and R 4 are mononuclear or polynuclear hydrocarbon forming a sandwich structure together with the center atom M 1 , R 5 is a group represented by formula II (R 6 and R 7 are H, halogen, 1-10 C alkyl or 6-10 C aryl and M 2 is Si or Ge) or a group represented by formula III (R 8 is same as R 7 )] or linear aluminoxane represented by formula IV (R 9 is 1-6 C alkyl or phenyl and n is 2-50) and/or a cyclic aluminoxane represented by formula V to obtain the objective polymer. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1991,JPO |
