abstract NEW MATERIAL: A compd. of formula I [R 1 is 4-20C alkyl, 3-8C cycloalkyl, 1-adamantyl, phenyl, etc.; R 2 is H, 1-6C alkyl, R 1 and R 2 taken together form formula II with N (X is NR 9 , O, S, etc.; R 9 is H, 1-6C alkyl, etc.; R 10 is H, 1-6 alkyl, etc.; n is 0-2); R 3 -R 6 are each H, 1-6C alkyl, 1-6C alkoxy, halogen, nitro, etc.]. n EXAMPLE: 1-piperidinecarboxylic acid 4-phenoxyphenylester. n USE: An inhibitor of a cholesterolester hydrolase, which controls a concentration of cholesterol in serum and useful for the treatment of a coronary heart disease, atheros clerosis, familial hypercholesterolemia accompanying hypelipidemia. n PROCESS: A compd. of formula I is obtained by reacting a phenol of formula R 11 OH (R 11 is formula III) with a carbamoyling agent in a solvent such as methylene chloride in the presence of a catalyst (e.g. triethylamine). n COPYRIGHT: (C)1991,JPO
