abstract PURPOSE: To obtain a safe antimicrobial agent, containing plural N-long-chain acylamino acid salts in which different metals having antimicrobial properties are bound, having a wide antimicrobial spectrum with high antimicrobial action without eliminating the bound antimicrobial metals. n CONSTITUTION: An antimicrobial agent containing two or more N-long chain aclylamino acid salts in which metals having different antimicrobial properties, preferably silver or copper as an essential metal and at least one, especially two or more metals selected from other metals (silver, copper, lead, zinc, tin, bismuth, etc.) are bound therein. Stearoyl, lauroyl, myristoyl and palmitoyl groups are cited as the acyl group in the N-long chain acylamino acid salts. A monoaminodicarboxylic acid is preferred as the amino acid part. The aforementioned agent is blended with other ingredients to prepare antimicrobial resin compositions, paper having antimicrobial properties, antimicrobial synthetic fibers, antimicrobial coatings, local antimicrobial agents, cosmetics, etc. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1991,JPO&Japio
